Travel & Site
The conference is located at the Campus of the Ruhr University Bochum. All lectures will take place in the lecture hall HZO 20 which is located within the HZO building (Hörsaalzentrum Ost). The coffee breaks and the two poster sessions on Monday and Tuesday will take place in the Audimax Foyer, which is located in front of the HZO building. The Conference Dinner on Wednesday will be served in the Mensa.
It is highly recommended to use public transport to reach the conference site from the city center, which is connected conveniently from to Bochum’s main railway station (Hauptbahnhof, Hbf) via subway line U35 in the direction of Hustadt. The trip takes about 10 minutes and the line runs every few minutes. Get of the subway at the “Ruhr-Universität” stop, cross the wide pedestrian bridge toward the RUB Campus (which is on the right side after leaving the train), and walk straight toward the large round building (the Audimax) at the Campus center. The HZO building is located just before reaching the Audimax building on its left side.

Accomodation
Accommodation for conference participants has been reserved at different hotels at a special rate (subject to availability). You may, of course, pick any other hotel. Reservations must be made by the participant directly at the hotel listed using the keyword “STC 2016”; please pay attention to the different deadlines of the hotels. Note that the Conference Office does not deal with any issue related to your accommodation.
Important note: It is highly recommended that you make your hotel reservation effective as soon as possible in view of a large-scale event that will be taking place nearby at this same time as the STC.

Internet Access
WLAN access will be provided at the conference venue through the eduroam system. We strongly recommend that you configure eduroam at your home institution before joining the conference. Only if you cannot access eduroam should you contact the Information Counter after arrival in order to receive a personalized temporary access code. We also recommend that you do not rely on having continuously fast internet access in order to view the electronic Book of Abstracts.
