Information to Users

  • All books are sorted into different categories (see below) and within each category alphabetically by the first letter of the (first) author name.
  • Books are labelled with one or two letters to indicate the category below which is a three-character ID consisting of the first letter of the (first) author name and a two-digit number.
  • The location of a book is indicated with the property “Location” in the catalog. The majority of books is located in the shelf in room NC 03/54 (and are indicated with property - Location: Shelf). However the books belonging to the categories CB, CP, CC, CN, and CS are shelved in the cabinet/closet (“Location: Cabinet”) above the door of the library. There are also a few books permanently in the offices of Prof. Kutzelnigg (“Location: Office Kutz”) and Prof. Staemmler (“Location: Office Staemm”). If you need one of these books please contact the respective office directly.
